About

My name is Miki'ala Pua'a-Freitas. I was born and raised at Kapuna in Waihe'e, Maui. After attending college in CA, I moved to Thailand to pursue professional muay thai. While living, training, and competing in Thailand, I fell in love with their culture and way of living, which is deeply rooted in farming. My passion soon evolved from fighting to farming. I moved back home to pursue that passion.
I started Kapuna Farms named after the 'āina that raised me. My mission is to protect, cultivate and mālama 'āina.  I grow kalo, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, tropical flowers and native plants. I also raise free-range egg-laying hens and have an apiary of hives rescued from all over the island.
Mahalo nui for supporting my small farm!
